It's times like this that I think of how confusing talking to someone from before the age of video games (via time travel) would be. Depending on when, they'd probably call you crazy at best and burn you at the stake at worst.

I like Jane Austen, myself (and I didn't like Jane Eyre). I am muchly mocked for my good opinion, but I like the stories and I love the little bits of clever, humorous writing.

Sorry, there is no clever or humorous writing to be found in the works of Jane Austen.

So how was everyone's first day of school? Those people that began school today.

It was too long. I work and 6 and didn't get out of school until 6:45 pm, after which I immediately walked to FHE which didn't end until 8:30 or 9. I finally got to sleep around 10:30. But other than being exhausted out of my mind, it was good.

Vorpal, thanks for that list! I love that book. I think Mr. Bennett is by far funnier in the book than in any of the movies. And none of the movies even get the best part of the ending. That doesn't mean I don't love watching the A&E version, though. Now I wanna go read the book again.

I do really like Pride and Prejudice. I watch a fair amount of Bollywood movies. Have you ever seen the Bollywood version of Pride and Prejudice called Bride and Prejudice? There are better Bollywood movies, but this is pretty interesting. There is also a Bollywood version of Sense and Sensibility called I have found it. Come to think of it, both movies star Aishwarya Rai. Actually, strictly speaking, Bride and Prejudice is filmed in English, and is only like a real Bollywood movie. Also, I have found it was filmed in the Tamil language and is really a Tollywood movie.

Currently my wife and I are watching the 2009 BBC version of Emma. We really like it. I read the book about fifteen years ago, and my wife says I told her then that I didn't really like it. I think I would like it now. My wife prefers Emma to Pride and Prejudice, believing Emma is deeper and more realistic. So, I may be rereading Emma before I reread Pride and Prejudice.

I'm trying to read Persuasion right now. It's really good (I've read it a few times). But I'd rather watch the movie (the new one, that I haven't seen). I'd rather watch something than read lately. Sad day.

In hopefully not related news, my goal tomorrow is to search the Board for apt relationship questions, so I don't have to ask anyone advice. In the meantime, I'm just going to ignore that text. I haven't been remotely encouraging, I don't know where this comes from.

I talked to Darth Fedora for a while last night. She mentioned how she was thinking about applying to the Board. I am now publicly encouraging all of you to nag her every time you communicate with her until she asks for an app.

You know how I mentioned that "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" was the next book I was going to read? I finished. And I don't really recommend it. It wasn't clean (swearing, characters sleeping around very casually, lots of distrurbing rape and murder). And while the action was certainly compelling, I prefer books that make you think about something when you are done. No morals here. Just "hey, look how demented some people are."

Anyway, just thought I would toss that out.
