Texting

Seriously, is it that hard to refrain from texting during a PRAYER? AKA communication with God?

I am so glad my age group doesn't text. What a lousy way to communicate . . .

next time you are sitting on the toilet and you need to ask a girl out, you will feel otherwise.

These are the same people who whisper or pass notes during the prayer.

Okay. Not the topic of the thread, but I have a texting question. Is there anyone here who has texted regularly with both a phone keypad and a qwerty keyboard? If so, which do you prefer? I'm having trouble finding anyone who has done both. Either they've never used qwerty (or only when borrowing a friend's phone) or they were intimidated by texting with a keypad and have always had a qwerty phone.....

I have a keypad, so the qwerty feels strange to me on a phone.

I can't text. My mom has it blocked, and she's still paying for my phone so I don't argue. Although I've recently had a couple text messages come through. But I prefer to use the keypad, qwerty is usually too small for my fingers to deal with on cell phones.

I still owe you 10 cents for mine that came through, right?

i've used both. obviously i prefer qwerty, but that could be my geeky bias towards smartphones in general coming through.

I use Dvorak on my laptop, but I'm not sure it would be any better for a handheld keyboard.

I, for one, have used both QWERTY and phonepad. (for the record, QWERTY is really easy to type.) I immensely prefer phonepad, because there are less buttons for me to hit if I miss the one I'm aiming for. I've found that a lot of the time, I type way faster on a numberpad. Or, like my blackberry Storm, Suretype. IT's the way to go.

Thanks for the input guys. I'm considering upgrading my zire & cell phone to a centro and one of my biggest hesitations is having to go with qwerty for texting. And I'll miss graffiti.

Storm is not crappy. Unless you are an idiot and don't know how to do internet research to make it good.
