stupid internet acronyms

Why, oh why, do people use constructions like "and then DH said . . ."

I guess "Dearest Husband" is supposed to replace a proper noun like "Mark," but it's annoying, and ruins the flow of your prose. Just say "my husband," for Pete's sake!

Not to mention some of us see DH and think Deathly Hallows...

I have the hardest time figuring out what people really mean with their acronyms. And since holding down the shift key bugs me, it should bug everyone, therefore they should save the effort and type it out.

Oh, and it's probably never EVER a good idea to link to encyclopedia dramatica. For like, any reason. That site is as bad as 4chan. Just an observation.
