This question reminded me of the time my whole family was almost killed in a car accident while I was in the MTC. They survived and are all alive and well, but it got me to thinking: what would I have done had I all of a sudden been the sole inheritor of everything my family owns? My parents have a will, but after all would have been said and done, I would have ended up with the vast majority of their estate.
What would you do if you were landed in such a situation?
As for me, I would have come home from my mission, dealt with all the funeral stuff, sold the family business, cashed in on the life insurance, paid off the house, put the rest in the bank, then gone back on my mission. I would have tried to live as normal a life as possible, and used the remaining money (which would be a lot, mind you) to prepare for retirement and avoid debt for the rest of my life.
