Hey all, I realize this is late notice, but I thought some of you may be interested. This Thursday and Friday during the day there will be lectures and panel discussions about human trafficking. It is being put on by the School of Social Work, and they have invited Kevin Bales, the current leader of the U.S.-based group Free The Slaves. I have met him before and he is a very nice man as well as intelligent.

Basically I am really excited for this, and just wanted to let everyone know it is happening. You can find more information: here (schedule) and here (BYU news piece).

Unfortunately I have classes and work most of those days... But I am going to try and attend the panel discussion on Thursday and one of the 9 o'clock sessions on Friday. When are you going?!

all I can think of is that is a terrible name for a conference.

You know what, I guess it should really be "Conference About the Subject Human Trafficking."

But guess what everyone, I'm pretty sure the title was not that confusing to begin with. HONESTLY.

I went to the session this morning and it blew my mind. Let me know how the Friday one goes. Sadly, I have to work and cannot attend.

I'm going to the human trafficking conference NEXT weekend. It's more like a trade show, really.

A human trafficking trade show? That sounds...disturbing.
