Okay. I seem to remember that some of you lot were very good at fonts. I am not. I like this logo, but want to match the fonts she used in other places on my Christmas card. So what font did she use to write "Christmas" and the words around the edge of the oval? And for that matter, what is the "Merry"?

If you guys don't know, I can try and contact the blogger, but I tried font finder and it didn't help.

EDIT: Whoops. Just saw you tried to use font finder. WTFont might not be helpful. Did you crop selectively?

Normally I consult Identifont in these situations, but I'm not finding anything.

Well, thanks for the help everyone! I appreciate the effort. I emailed the blog author, so we'll see if she ever gets back to me.

In case she doesn't, though: I need a font to use for my Christmas card text (about one paragraph). It needs to be fairly "dark", since the background is a bit dark. And I want it to be a casual font (since it is like a letter to friends), but not illegible (like the handwritten style fonts are). Like comic sans without being as overused as comic sans, you know? What fonts do you guys like to use?

By dark do you mean thicker/bolder? Or dark like the tunnel scene from the first Willy Wonka movie?

I think you're overthinking this. Any font can be casual. If it's a long letter, just stick to something nice and readable - I like Georgia for a serif and Minion or Trebuchet for a sans-serif.

I'm very good at over-thinking things. My husband and I had to come to a good system quickly, because he figured out I am horrible at making decisions. When someone else makes them for me, I can cope with the consequences, but when faced with picking out a movie a Blockbuster you can count on me to find a horrible one after thinking it over for a half an hour.

Trubuchet it is. I like it. If I hear back from my blogger, I'll change it, but otherwise I'll go with this.

Check it out, I'll have my Christmas card done early this year! WOOT! I have a lot of big projects for Christmas this year, so I am really happy I'm getting a jump on things.

Now I'm stuck trying to find a font, but it's in a book, so What the Font and Font Finder aren't going to help and Identifont didn't find it. Maybe I'll scan one of the pages and upload it to What the Font . . .
