Question 60549, Maha

For the record, la uhib maha.

I know that what I did was go to Brainhoney--> Arabic-->Course Materials-->Al-Kitaab Materials-->AK Story Video Files, then downloaded the videos using RealPlayer and then convert them to either Apple Itunes videos or to MP4 files, and then put it on your ipod...

Honestly, I'm not sure how legal that is. But the videos were put there for our benefit and if you're only using it for personal learning, like Cloze quizes etc, I doubt anyone would be mad.

!عمي ضابط كبير في الجيش

Pretty random, but still my favorite Maha moment (as far as I got in my classes, at least).

Lol! Good times. I think when maha said it it was more like kabeeeeeeeeeeer lol. I still laugh over the "Ana. Isme. Maha." lol

Also, when I was overseas I had a phone that allowed me to text in Arabic, and I told my friend "dude, text me something in arabic!" and he was like "what should I text you?" and I was like "anything!" so about a minute later I got a text that said
انا اسمي مها
lol

Oh man, when she says it in MSA it is so much more awesome than when she says it in Egyptian.

Hua Dhabit kabeeeeeeeeeeeer... f'il jeesh (fetching look at the camera)!

vs.

Hua Zhabit kabir f'il geesh (hurries to finish monologue).

Oh, of course. Totally goofy look, man. Here's a link for your enjoyment: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2eXxqXjuzc&t=0m27s

When a friend from my Arabic class told me he was getting married, I was surprised; he'd always been the free-spirit type. When I asked what changed, he said "I just got falan waheda, man." Another great Maha reference!
