So, anyone want to take the test and see how we measure up?

Link to question with link to test

My score is less than the Board's average. But that's okay, I'm just a secretary and I don't need brain power. ;)

I got 147 on the one linked to in the question, but only 126 in a professionally administered one years ago.

Edit: Here's another fun one which is all puzzles of the progressive matrices type. I got 121 on it.

153. And I really wish it came with an answer key, because there were a couple of questions that I would really like to know the answers to!

153. Personally, I don't care if I have the official answers. I'm pretty sure that my logic on all the answers was sound, I just dropped a minus sign, so to speak, on a couple problems.

either that, or Internet IQ tests are somehow limited in scope.

I got a 156, too. I suddenly feel smart! Which is a lot better than I felt during the test.

(And was anyone else annoyed that if you clicked 'back' it erased all your answers?) Also, note for anyone taking it in future, use a fake or spam email account at the end. They tell you your score after you enter it. They don't email it to you. I just typed in [email protected] and it accepted it. :)

Teaching geometry this year totally helped me get that done faster - I think I still would have gotten it - but a lot of those were similar to things done in class this year.

Which ones if I may ask? I went back and re-took the test to check if they'd done anything abnormal (non-integers considered 'odd', length of a cylinder being its diameter, things along those lines) As far as I can tell, pretty much everything was as expected, except for the fact that I can't tell age from height, apparently. :Þ

12 and 27. 12 I had no idea and just guessed, 27 I actually came up with an answer based on something really obvious, but it was so obvious that I don't think it was right and I think I was missing something. Also I'm pretty sure I got 25 wrong, just because I hate unfolded cube questions and so I narrowed it down to 2 choices and just guessed. But I know how to figure that one out, I just didn't want to. :)

12- Lifted shamelessly from the site:ImageIf we follow the left-most square, we find it traces a diagonal path, while the third-rank square makes a vertical one. The circle is problematic, as it disappears after the first iteration, not to be seen again until the options we must choose from. If we are to presume that it has a rational, discernible pattern it must be hidden from view for the second and third images, giving rise to the potential that it may follow a W or zig-zag pattern. If so, we can predict that the originally left-most square will proceed one cell further along its diagonal, the vertical one will be one higher, and the circle will reappear from behind them and step back down to the third file. Sure enough, such a prediction is an option to choose from, which was sufficient for me to make my choice.

27- I just went with the fact that I could unjumble 3 of them into categorically similar things, with one that simply didn't fit.

As for 25, it always makes for crossed eyes trying to figure out if this face and that one would appear just so. I can understand your distaste.

5. A rancher plans to add a post between every two posts of an open-ended (straight) fence. If he currently has 10 posts in the fence, how many does he need to insert?
Wouldn't the answer to this one be either 4 or 6? Those weren't in the answer choices...so I went with 5 instead.

And I never figured out how to unscramble this... SATAALURI

Also, this one was just...strange.
26. 18825135 is to rhyme as 1851191514 is to
