62376 Presidential Best and Worst

I was going to put this on the "Answers I Liked" thread, but since the answer is both opinionated and political, someone probably has something more to say than "THAT WAS SO AWESOME D.A.R.E.!" Which, in my opinion, it certainly was.

I'm just reading it right now. It's so well written! And brings back memories of U.S. history in high school - good times. Anyway, this is funny to me: "Objectivists and worshiper of Ayn Rand, feel free to send me scathing emails of disagreement."

Specifically, "worshiper of Ayn Rand." There is only one. Obviously.

One is too many, in my opinion.

I meant to write "worshipers," but I think we can all agree "worshiper" is much, much funnier.

Glad you guys enjoyed it. Considering it nearly went to 1100 hours, I figured I'd better make it worth everyone's while.

My response was more like "This is so awesome and after only two paragraphs I already know who wrote it." :)

I definitely enjoyed it as well. Took me back to the days of AP US History in high school...which reminds me -- does American Heritage at BYU cover anything past the Constitution era? I was having this discussion with my siblings the other day, and we couldn't remember. It's been like 5 or 6 years since I took that class.

I took American Heritage at BYU in Winter 2001 (wow, that dates me), and I specifically remember two things:
1. Our teacher playing U2's "Pride (In the Name of Love)" when he talked about the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. (I had never made that connection, which I think was very silly of my 18-year-old self)
2. Watching a clip of "Glory" about the Civil War, and there was a big controversy about it because the film was originally rated R, but apparently they made a PG version to be shown at schools and we were assured that version is what we saw. Not that I care either way, but yeah.

Anyway, both of these I think definitely give support to the idea that yes, American Heritage at BYU covers a lot past the Constitution era. Hope that helps! :D

Whoa. That may very well be. Awesome. All I know is I took it with a bunch of people from my freshman ward because I was, you know, a freshman, and it was the cool thing to do.

Spring 2001 for me. So that's 5 for the calendar year, at least.

Hmm. Well, since I brought up my siblings earlier, I should say that they all took American Heritage sometime in the early to mid-90s. They're quite a bit older than me...
