It's threads like this that make me want to become an administrator instead of waiting for someone else to deal with spammers.

I went ahead and deleted the post (and banned that user). Hopefully nobody minds this rare use of my admin status.

You know, the shocker of this is, I'm actually at work and working today. Which is why I didn't catch it first off. I promise I check this site approximately every 15 minutes. Just not when I'm ... working. yay work! I should go home (it's only two hours away).

No catching of spammers will occur on my drive, unfortunately.

Just out of curiosity, C4, but do you ever consider banning members who haven't posted anything yet, but are almost certainly spambots?

I would be banning more spammers, but they keep popping up when I'm with Marduk, and then he won't let me on his precious, precious computer to take care of them. ; )

You bet! I do it all the time. Well, not lately. I've gotten behind in the last...week...two weeks. Whatever.

Not too bad considering that we've only started getting spambots in the last, what, month? Two months? I guess now that they're actually starting to post it's time to crack down on them again, but really, they've mostly been sitting there doing nothing, so it's easy to ignore them.
