I added a friend on twitter, not realizing that she tweets way more often than the other people I'm following. (Her tweets now account for half of my twitter feed, although I should clarify that I'm only following eight people.) She knows I started following her because she started following me back (not that I ever tweet). If I unfollow her, will she know about that, too? (I wouldn't want to hurt her feelings.)

There will be one fewer name in her "followers" box or whatever it is, but I don't know for sure if there's a notification, because I only have 2 people following me and neither have unfollowed me.

It should be a short experiment, though.

No, you don't get a message if someone unfollows you. She might notice if she doesn't have a lot of followers or if she cares about that kind of thing, but it gives no notification. (It does, however, give notification if you start following someone, which is how she knew you were following her to begin with.) But don't worry about unfollowing someone. I do it all the time. I'll start following someone I know and like, then find out that all they tweet about is stuff I don't really care about (politics, sports, etc.) and after a week or two of just scrolling past them, I'll cave and unfollow them.

I just got onto twitter account a couple days ago. I follow about 30 people, but they're mostly authors and the like who have tons of followers already.

She's got over 2,000 followers. I don't think she'll notice if I unfollow her.

Do it. Unfollow her. (And now I'm convinced this person isn't me. But then again… are you following me?)

Who in this world has over 2k followers?!

It's my first and last name. So is yellow's. But he blogs mostly nerdy things. And a few interesting things.

I just follow Dragon Lady. Anything interesting that Yellow says ends up getting retweeted by her anyways.
