When I was the ward organist, several years ago, I couldn't play the organ in a skirt with a slip or a lining, because I'd fall off the bench. (Balancing while playing the organ is a tricky business and a little friction is your friend.)

Having worn silk to play organ on Sunday, I can commiserate.

(Actually, whether I'm wearing a slip makes less difference than the slipperiness of the outside of my skirt. And I obviously don't plan around my organ-playing very well, since I ... wore silk.)

I wear slips under wrap dresses and skirts ever since that one parking lot incident, but every non-wrap skirt I own has a lining and it would just be really weird and pointless to wear a slip under a skirt with a lining. Especially since most of them are dark and non-clingy.

My mom usually says her most embarrassing moment was when she was twelve or so and her slip fell off when the missionaries were over.

I wear a slip with my two see-through skirts, but most of my others are thick enough that no skirt is needed, and a couple of them are too short for a slip.

Blah. I meant that no slip is needed.

if a skirt is clingy 1)it may not fit correctly and a slip won't fix that and 2) get some spanx or spanx alternative underwear! i agree no one should see the tag of your underpants when you're wearing a skirt, but spanx fixes that problem.

i used to wear slips when i was little and was forced to go to church with my grandmother (i didn't like her church). now i only wear them for performances (and only if i have to change in front of the crew and i'm wearing dresses. otherwise people just have to deal with it.) Or I'll wear a full slip to performances of rocky horror because I don't want to look TOO slutty. I also only wear full slips. i HATE HALF SLIPS!!
