#63999 Superheroes v. Supervillains

Two points:
1) In 1984 Marvel Comics published one of the first company-wide crossovers in comic books called Secret Wars. In the story, a cosmic entity called the Beyonder is curious about the nature of good and evil and which is more powerful. So he plucks all of Earth's superheroes and all the supervillains and puts them on a planet called Battleworld to see who wins. Good guys won.
2) While less common in movies, the trope of the villain winning is not unheard of in comic books. The mini-series Empire was about a supervillain that conquered the Earth and then discovered it actually wasn't very fun to be in charge, but if he let his guard down he would be killed.
