I prefer pineapple tamales, myself. Also, brown sugar with whipped cream? What's MSJ thinking?

brown sugar still does not belong there. It is harder and earthier. Perhaps confectioner's sugar?

Um, I love brown sugar, and think it would be great here! I mean, it is basically a small cherry pie, and cherry pies are good with brown sugar! ;D
(Sorry, two years in a sugar producing country. Brown sugar is a way of life.)

I think it sounds pretty great. Just make sure you get all the pits out of the cherries. Safety first!
