http://theboard.byu.edu/questions/66967/ reminded me of an exchange I had with one of my roommates sophomore year. I was one of those girls who did manage to get asked out a lot, and she just couldn't understand it.
Finally she looked at me and said, "You just must have a lot of pheromones or something."
So maybe that's what the asker of this question needs.

Every time a new girl moves in with me she is shocked that I have been on only 12 dates or so. I don't know why the guys don't ask me out. I remember a tearful valentines eve walking with a very close male friend asking him what was wrong with me. But I've come to realize that I'm okay with my lack of dates. Because the point of dating is getting to know yourself and others, which I definitely have.
And so while my lack of dating is hard sometimes, I know that I'm still growing and progressing into the woman that I need to be when the time comes and I am someone's girlfriend/fiance/wife.

When I ask girls out, I DEFINITELY make the decision based on smell. I really don't understand how people without a sense of smell date.

I just counted, and I can count 7 guys I've been on dates with since high school (I think I went on three in high school, and two of them were very much "just friends"). Three of those guys led to multiple dates, but I...didn't get asked out a whole bunch. I'm no hottie, but I'm okay. I just don't think I made myself open to it. I'm pretty sure I met every boy who flirted with me with a look of incredulity.
Oh no, make that 8: the boy who pursued me not despite but because I was already taken.
I also have a very dull sense of smell.

Yellow's brother told me that eating celery makes you more attractive. Maybe increasing pheromones? It was last summer that he told me.
