Okay, this isn't quite a love at first sight story, but it almost is. When I was in grad school a bunch of us went out for Thai food one Friday night. As friends. All of us were just friends. None of us were dating anyone. We were walking back to this one guy's apartment to play Guitar Hero afterwards, and all of a sudden he and this girl were holding hands. They had known each other for about 6 weeks at this point. They hadn't really been hanging out alone or anything and they definitely were not dating. They hadn't even been sitting by each other at dinner. It was just like here they were in the street holding hands. And they kept holding hands. And we got to his house and played Guitar Hero and he sat next to her on the couch with his arm around her. When we were done playing Guitar Hero, we all left, but she stayed. We all looked at each other like, "What just happened? Did you know this was going on? Did we all miss something?" That same night, facebook relationship statuses were updated. They honestly had just been walking beside each other and had this simultaneous thought of, "I love this person and want to be with them forever." So they grabbed each others hands and they have been together ever since. They moved in together a few months later and when she graduated and moved to Europe for a postdoc and he still had a year left, he started working at night so that they could video chat with each other all day/night long while they worked. Then he graduated and moved to Europe to be with her. That fateful night was almost five years ago and they are now married and just had a baby. Most movie-like beginning of a relationship I have ever seen.
