Twitter search of General Conference

I think it would be really interesting to do an analysis of all of the tweets that use the #ldsconf hashtag during General Conference weekend (especially in terms of whether some talks or speakers get a bigger reaction than others). I spent some time poking around the Twitter API documentation last April (when the idea first occurred to me), but I quickly got way out of my programming depth.
Can anyone give me some pointers or help?

This sounds interesting. I'd love to help. Feel free to get in touch via chat or email, or here if you like.

I did a little digging around and got their streaming API working, so getting the data is essentially ready to go.

(The analysis will be a bit trickier, but that's the fun part!)
