Another dating question

Link.

I thought Warped Mastermind read this forum, but I just looked in members and didn't see the name there. Maybe I'm just so used to seeing that name when I was a writer! Anyway, in case he does look here I wanted to say that "traditional dating" isn't the only way. Every one of my boyfriends would chat with me at length online. Or we would exchange emails. We hung out IRL, too, (and met IRL before exchanging AIM names, then MSN messenger names, then Gchat (oh how the times have changed)) but we were able to get a lot of the sometimes awkward, sometimes silly, "getting-to-know-you" stuff out of the way online which made it a lot easier (at least for me) to be comfortable in a relationship. Just something to think about!

I'm with you here, Mico. I don't do well with getting-to-know-you small talk, but online dating rocked my world. Based on his profile, the first thing I ever asked Marx was, "So what sort of societal conceptions do you like to stir up?" We didn't get around to exchanging basic biographical details for several weeks after that, because we were too busy talking about process theology and critical theory.
