Actual names:
Koiden
Taliha
Cayson
Teancum

Incidentally, my husband and I made up a game called Scrabble Babies, inspired by Utah names. You're allotted 6 or so tiles and have to make a name from them.

For a family combination of names, I vote Samuel, Joseph, Hyrum, and Alvin. For some reason, they had something against poor old Don Carlos. Which, according to other members of my stake, is an acceptable name, by virtue of the fact that they named their child that.

I have two friends named Mahonri and two named Nephi. That's what growing up in Utah will do to you.

Heh. My eyesight is so bad today that I really thought this guy's name was Mahonn. I thought that was exceedingly odd.

Maybe that's the masculine version of Mahanna?

...I don't actually know. We don't keep in touch. He was a baby when I was 15-ish, so if we're playing the do-you-know game, then he's quite a bit younger than us. Or just me. Because I don't know how old you are.

Not the same one, then, because he's about my age. (And I assume you're not in your 40s.)

I once met a guy named DeVry (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devry for those of you who don't watch as much TV as I do and haven't seen 8 million DeVry commercials). I think he was from Idaho, though.

I met someone named GulasDumiSumiPapaya Gulas once.

He's not American, though. Although he is a toothpaste model.

There are nearly 200 people with Utah as first name, all over 55 years old.

There are over 2000 with the first name of Ute, mostly not in Utah...

If anyone has a graduation program from 2008, that was a particularly strong Utah name year.
