I used to live a few blocks away from Smith's in Provo, and I frequently did my grocery shopping late on Saturday nights because it was a nice empty-store kind of time. Around 11:50, they would announce that if anyone was buying beer they had 10 more minutes to do so, and then sometimes they would make a 5 minute announcement at 11:500. And then right at midnight they would put up that same sign from Olympus's picture. It always kind of cracked me up because there was pretty much no one in the store, and there was never any kind of mad dash for the checkout to get the beer before it was too late, but they really made a point of letting people know that their beer buying time was running out.
