useless boyfriend feedback

Post by Portia »

Ugh, trying to get a significant other's feedback on a final project is literally the worst thing ever. (Sorry, Hitler.) Seriously, all that happens is that one person feels criticized, one person wastes their time, and everyone has an Existential Nervous Meltdown about Where the Relationship is Going. UGH.

When I was in my screenwriting classes I used to stay up writing and rewriting tiny bits of dialogue and description and tweaking the plot, and I'd run it all past my husband for feedback, who didn't really care and finally just told me that he couldn't listen anymore. He said ten minutes of script-talk was the most he could deal with, so I left him alone after that.

On our second date, Marx told me about a paper he was writing and I basically ripped his thesis to shreds. Somehow we got married anyway.
