Labor Ready/ safety

Has anyone used Labor Ready, the temp agency (work a day/get paid on site)? I'm in a bit of a tight spot money-wise and need to find an additional source of income as soon as possible. Do they prefer men? (I'm a woman, student, 22). Is it safe?
