European trip

It's been seven years, and now that I've graduated and I'm gainfully employed, I want to return!

I want to go for 10 days in September or October. I'm looking for budgeting and saving tips. I want to use a Groupon Getaway or something similar, so let's say it's about $1900 and it will include airfare and lodging. How else can I save? (I'm leaning towards Corsica and Herculaneum/Florence. Although Norway/Scotland is definitely a possibility, although that would probably be in 2015.)

How should I set aside the money, and how much per month? I use Mint.com, and it's all going to be on a debit, nothing fancy. I make about $2000 a month in take-home pay, with very few bills.

Any other snags I should plan for to decrease the possibility of things going wrong?

You can find less expensive lodging through AirB&B for most major cities.

Get a youth card:

The discounts add up, especially if you are going to visit museums, theatres, etc.
