Oddly enough, after a recent conversation with Claudio about divisions and types of nerds/geeks, I discovered this. So how many of the 56 kinds of geek are you? Feel free to confess your geeky orientation below.

You can pull off some kinds of nerdiness without being made fun of. Sports fans, gearheads, political junkies, and rock geeks are considered normal. So, that's what I open up with when I meet someone. :D

I harbor a secret love for older RPG's. All the Final Fantasies (especially 6 and 7), Chrono Trigger, Earthbound, and most PS1 games like Xenogears, Lunar or FF Tactics. I still dig them out and replay them once in a while. God bless the Japanese.

Oh yeah, and I'm a sucker for quoting Simpsons, Futurama, Family Guy, etc. I can go on for ages.

Oh, and the geek chart reminded me of http://youtube.com/watch?v=KOcKGc8ycCA&feature=related. Caution: it's a Triumph the Insult Comic Dog clip, so it's off color humor. Freaking hilarious, though. (for me to poop on!)

I am also surprised at how un-geeky I am by these classifications. But, I am definitely a
Lab geek (guess where I spend all my time)
Plant geek (like Fred's Fish geek)
Book geek
Food geek
Band geek
Music geek in general
History geek
I am the only person I know who takes a long time on hikes, not because I'm out of shape, but because I *have* to stop and identify the wild flora as I go.

To be a comic book geek one would be expected to have comic books. To be a computer geek it would be expected that one had a computer. Does the same apply to girl geek? Obviously a Star Trek geek can't have Star Trek, so perhaps girl geek falls into that sort of geek category.

well, sure. just because a guy likes cars doesn't mean he has to own a ferrari.

a star trek geek CAN have star trek. it's on dvd and itunes. and they can have a suit. and little models. and vulcan ears. i know this because my acting coach has all of these.

So get married. That will solve ALL your problems and make you into a young man again.
