Update to Question #70199

Post by The Happy Medium »

http://theboard.byu.edu/questions/70199/

Just in case anyone was dying to know if anything happened, I was the one who asked the original question. And it turns out the guy in question is gay and engaged...so the minimal chance that I thought I had with him turns out to be none. It's probably a good thing that I wasn't too crazy about him or this would be much more disappointing.

On a related note, does anyone else know of the end result of other relationship questions? I'm always dying to know how things worked out for people who ask relationship questions.

I haven't asked any relationship questions, but yours reminded me of my own EFY experience.

I had a major crush on one guy in my group, he was smart, participated in many of the same activities I did, but he lived about 4 states away. Around 4-6 years later, I was in a religion class when a girl was introducing herself. She had the same last name, and was from the same state as crush. I asked her if she knew him, lo and behold, he was her older brother! I had gotten over him and flat out told her that he was my crush when I was at EFY. Nothing came of it, but it was a fun small-mormon-world story.

I was an EFY counselor a few years ago and it was so funny to see how all these 14-17 year old girls thought they had met their future husbands. Ah, to be young and naive. *sigh*

I actually have asked a lot of relationship questions myself. Such as http://theboard.byu.edu/questions/75013 and http://theboard.byu.edu/questions/73351 In the first case the guy left our dinner group because things were just too awkward between me, him, and the girl he liked. In the second case the guy pretty much dropped off the face of the planet after our date. Seems like guys want to make it EXTREMELY obvious when they're not interested in me.

If you're from the Pacific Northwest, I think I know exactly who this is. (Assuming he's engaged to a woman, not a man.)
