My husband and I have started working 12-14 hour days and we like to stop at Maverick after to get a treat. I like to get the hot chocolate because it's one of my favorite things after a long physical day. I just found out that this particular location adds caffeine to their cocoa, sometimes there has been more caffeine in the cocoa than in the coffee. In other news. My current resting heart rate is about 120 bpm.....

O_O it seems like they should tell you when they're adding caffeine

I realized that the "people chow" DIY soylent drink I drink qualifies as something weird I drink. It's basically masa harina, a little bit of GNC sport and whey isolate, vegetable oil, and water. Very inoffensive (sort of like liquid tortilla chips) and a good substitute for when I can't think of anything good to eat.

Tonight, in honor of my cold just a handful of days before my juries, I am drinking hot lemonade: water, lemon juice, and honey, sipped hot from the microwave.
The Epistler was quite honestly knocked on her ethereal behind by the sheer logic of this.

Blech, a cold right before juries. If it's religiously acceptable to you, a tablespoon or two of whiskey in your hot lemonade makes it an even better remedy.

In other news, the only time I ever get drunk is with my English teacher friends. We had our department Christmas party at my house on Friday. The end result of this is that I will not be drinking anything other than water and black coffee for about two weeks. Ugh.

I found a growler of the Miles Davis Bitches Brew (http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/64/59151/) as seen on this show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2dtOAhKEn6M

It's dark. About the darkest stout I've ever seen. Very roasty, but sweet too. It's pretty awesome.

EDIT: Full episode here if anyone is curious: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ds6NzYf-FG8. Lotta science and history in it.

And thus we see Cog's becoming the POV character in a New Yorker short story. :-)

For me, way too much Coca Cola. But my first grad school application is IN.

Henry McKenna Bourbon, from Kentucky.

Fortunately I'm not counting calories and have kept my weight where I want it for four years. :-) Yummy

The grocery store next to my apartment has had Gatorade on sale for $.58 a piece if you buy 12. At one point there was 12 in my fridge. Then there was 0, then there were 12 more, and now I'm back to I think 6. Favorite flavor of the 24 (obviously I bought 24 different flavors) was Watermelon Citrus, as well as G2 Raspberry Lemonade (not as sugary as other Gatorades, and also not as sharp of a flavor as other lemonades).

Worst flavor is Lime Cucumber. Whose idea was it to make cucumber flavored Gatorade?

I actually think that sounds kind of good. Is it super sweet? Or not so much?

I have a hankering to go to the fancy wine store in West Sugar House today. Haven't decided what I'll get yet though.

I picked up a bottle of Glenlivet 15 this evening. It's amazing how much smoother it is than the 12-year. Woooooooo

Lots of things. I had Warsaw Mules (with Zabrowka) at this Polish bar in Santa Monica. Had Mezcal poorly mansplained to me by a drunk guy at a 30th birthday party which made me feel like Nick Carraway.

Actually had Mezcal at my BFF's tonight and let him mansplain it to me. :P it was good. Saw it on the menu bit went for rite of spring. And I'm working on three!
