Immaculate conception is def the idea that Mary was conceived without original sin. The virgin conception/birth refers to Jesus' conception/birth by Mary. Mormons don't believe in the former, as this is a Romish heresy (obviously), and they believe in the latter, or I was strung along for a whole long time. (I don't personally believe in either; they both strike me as ridiculous.)

Hey, I had no idea. Yes, virgin birth. That was the subject in question.

God needed a pure vessel for his son to be born, and chose Mary while she was in her mother's womb to be born without sin in order to be Jesus' mother. It's actually a very powerful idea and is part of the Catholic church's teachings that makes me feel the deep love of God.

It happens with New Mexico Whiptails, but all the offspring are female as well.

Hope i didn't come across as too flippant. I'm more shocked that LDS people have such a weak grasp of christian theology in general, tbh ....

I think that I have a bad habit of beating myself while I'm down, in that when one thing goes wrong I start to look at everything in a negative light. I should stop doing that.

I think that's an unfortunate but common side of human nature. My 'nym is actually a direct rebellion against my tendency to do the exact same thing.

Welcome to knowing what it's like to be depressed! Now just imagine that happening all the time... : )

Sometimes I just need a day to adjust to a new situation before I respond, I think. Especially when the situation involves members of the opposite sex. Or PMS. Both together requires a week.

Last night, my best friend from high school and I gave each other hair wraps, à la middle school. I can't decide whether or not I'm embarrassed.

You guys remember that whole alcohol debate? And I mentioned that there were trace amounts of alcohol in most soft drinks? Yeah, apparently that wasn't common knowledge:

Why is this always so shocking to people? Everything contains trace amounts of alcohol. If it's got any kind of flavoring, most of those are made with alcohol. So of course there are traces left. It's not going to get you drunk.

I always knew Coke and Pepsi were against the Word of Wisdom!!!1!

Probably my favorite part of the article is the picture.
Image

Let's just superimpose a picture of evil coke on top of a random picture of even more evil whiskey! That'll prove conclusively to the world that coke has been adding FOUR HUGE bottles of Jack Daniels to every TINY bottle of coke! And...Tripodi even has the nerve to look happy about what he's done! What a rapscallion.

I just made a spreadsheet that replaces the online inventory software I was paying $12 a month for! Woo!

All I know is, if he comes back he'd better behave himself. You boys cause quite a ruckus around here sometimes.

Y'all behave yourselves now, hear?
