Hypatia's tsunami answer BLEW MY MIND. She explained things so clearly and simply, yet in a completely intelligent way that even idiots like me -- who have very little science training -- could understand. It was remarkably well sourced, yet not over documented. I think this is the best answer that's been given by anybody in a very, very long time.

I wasn't too impressed. I'm sure if I were a board writer and a helpful person and really smart and had studied fluid dynamics I could write an answer like that too.

Sorry, I was totally being jocular. The comment was really supposed to be praise.

My lame attempt at humor didn't work out. As newcomer, I guess I am not well-known enough here for people to get my humor. I often catch myself before I post patently unfunny jokes like that, but every now and then they slip through.

In my defense, I am short on sleep and have a lot on my mind.

So back off, I'm not the one on trial here.

In all seriousness, I thought H's answer was great, and I really appreciate her willingness to go out of her way to answer questions so expertly.
