Might I suggest a more liberal use of emoticons, in such situations? (I thought it was funny, but I may have read more of what you've written here than others have.)

It made me chuckle...out loud. But I'm kind of easy. So don't feel too funny. :)

While we're talking reactions to SMP's post...

I actually nodded along. "Yeah, if I were as cool as Hypatia, I totally could too! No big deal, really, to fill all those requirements."

But then again, I try to perpetuate the impression that this forum doesn't really like writers by using my own desert sarcasm, so it was on the level.

When a question gets 72 thumbs, I suppose it goes without saying that people liked it. So instead, I'll observe that Baby Bones is getting sooo big!

Thanks, Katya! (Er, I assume that was a compliment, right? Bigger is better, right?) If you ever want to make your way down to the Jersey shore for a summer vacation, you can always babysit (and have a free room-- I don't need four bedrooms...). :D Baby Bones especially loves people that can speak two or more languages.

Bigger is what we're going for. (But I may feel a bit nostalgic.)

Fun fact: Blue lobsters are real and not just a figment of GA's pajama-maker's imagination.

Hydrostatic pressure. Good stuff.

I never would have thought to build my own fish tank. Now I know why.

I would have found that answer annoying if it had been written by someone else.

You mean someone who didn't also major in the humanities? And who you already know is being sarcastic? :)
