I'd be curious to hear Ronald's side. It's interesting to see all those facts in the original question juxtaposed, even down to both having embassy attacks.

I'd vote Bic Cristal for worst. Those things seem to sputter out before a single paragraph is out for me.

Re: What's your favorite pen?

It seems to me that gels like the G2 dry on the page slightly quicker than the water-based rollerballs, which matters when you're left-handed, as at least some of your hand is going to go through what you just wrote. Of the varieties of left-handed writing shown here , my style is most like the seco...

What's your favorite pen?

I really like the form factor and line quality (when they work) of the Pilot Precise V5 Rolling Ball, but darned if I've had very bad luck with that pen's physical quality (the last three leaking on me--literally) which is why I switched to the Pilot G-2.

Re: Stuff we're reading / watching / listening to

Having seen Rocket Science , I admit I committed performer transference in my head, assuming at first that when Natalie Keener burst into tears at the airport, that it was a trick to get Ryan Bingham to let down his guard, Anna Kendrick being the same actor who played Ginny Ryerson, who was not abov...

Interesting
In the Los Angeles Unified School District, which has had year-round schools since 1974, officials say that at first the novel schedule scared and annoyed a lot of parents, but now many would never go back to a traditional calendar.

Re: Rant of the Day

I just looked up the district where I went to HS in WA and this year they started 9/2, two days ago as of the typing of this. I think I remember starting school and then shortly thereafter getting a day off for Labor Day.

Re: Rant of the Day

One dumb thing related to education in VA is a state law that the school year shall not begin until after Labor Day. It's known informally as the King's Dominion Law, after King's Dominion, a large amusement park. After all, with kids in school a few days or even weeks before Labor Day, just think h...

Summer Samba makes me think of elevator music, though I can't think of any time I've ever heard music in an elevator. Then again, I don't think I've ever been in a skyscraper or any building with more than about ten floors.

Sometimes I wonder about the super massive quantities sold at Costco. Who is buying 50 pound bags of granulated sugar?
