You know, I would just like to point out that sometimes there are bigger, more important things happening behind the Board than comments...

Re: Royal milk tea

Personally, I prefer to avoid all teas except 100% herbal ones (caffeine free, too, since that stuff gives me awful headaches). In Japan, other than herbal teas, the only tea that the LDS members consider "Mormon-safe" (as they call it) is mugicha, or barley tea. I never saw any other tea ...

Re: Congrats to LJ and Eirene!

I hope to be a vegetarian again some day. I was going strong for ten years and then I got knocked up and literally couldn't stop throwing up everything until I ate some meat. The same thing happened with my mom when she was pregnant with me. I often wonder if I had been raised vegetarian if I wouldn...

Haha, I remember laughing so hard when they talked about that 2-year marriage license in Mexico City on Wait, Wait... Don't Tell Me! I think that should adequately sum up my feelings on the matter... :)

@42: Oh, come now, you know you are never alone in anything having to do with dealing with in-laws. :P We still need to chat sometime about that. I have some fantastic stories for you.

Mountain Strings. They're the band that accompanies BYU's Folk Dance team. They're amazing, even though their dynamics usually change every year since all of the performers are students.

Re: steam cleaners to replace mops?

Yeah, our water is also salt-softened and I don't drink it. I wish I could, because I drink a absurd amount of water, but there's just not something quite right with it as far as consuming it goes. Even filtering it doesn't quite do the trick, unfortunately. (But I am just a little bit of a water sn...

Re: steam cleaners to replace mops?

@DL-- I said "kind of" because without the softener, the well water here is kind of stinky and, well, just generally icky. The couple that lived here before us (and built the house) didn't have a softener so it's certainly doable but kind of gross... did I mention I live in the middle of n...

Re: steam cleaners to replace mops?

Funny, because we have a water-softener (it's kind of a must with well water), but I still prefer to buy distilled water for my steam-cleaner. Not having to buy as many cleaning supplies makes up for it in my mind. Not to mention I don't mind leaving gallons of distilled water within Baby Bones' rea...

Re: steam cleaners to replace mops?

I steam cleaned my couches today. I also steam clean my bathrooms and few other miscellaneous things/places around my house. I just have a smell hand-held one for now that doesn't have an attachment for the floor, but goodness I LOVE steam cleaning. I love not having to use harsh chemicals but still...
