Tough, manly, sensitive music
I almost thought Coggers was going to mention it, but he didn't. So I will: Macho Man by the Village People.

Ah, my bad. I was recently (i.e. today) surprised (but then subsequently not surprised) to learn that disco got its start in the New York gay counterculture in the late 1960s (source).Cognoscente wrote:Damasta, look again. I linked it in a subsequent response.
...after Claudio pointed it out, that is. I was SO mad at myself for forgetting it. I mean, it's so perfect!!!

1. that is funny.Damasta wrote:If that little trick works for your 'nym, then: cute kid.krebscout wrote:Damasta:
Sometimes I search for *pseudonym*.blogspot.com of the folks around here just to see if they keep a blog under the same name. I looked for yours. Pretty sure it's not you, but it is kinda funny.
2. Voldemort* is exceedingly cute! I need to ask another "Update us on the kids" question. (Though it's less urgent than it was now that I've found most blogs that show pictures, other board readers might want to know that haven't.)
3. I never got the part about where he asked for sensitive music. I didn't find sensitive anywhere in the question, unless it was his sign-off. Or that he asked that the music not drive away the Spirit (which I think is a valid stipulation, and music can still be found that meets it). I also don't think he was asking for songs that glorify masculinity specifically (though maybe now I've interpreted the answers wrong), but songs that listening to made him feel tougher because they were so hard-core and energetic and loud.
*love this name. I love all the names that writers have come up for for their kids.

Keep in mind that it was Cognoscente who wrote "sensitive". He was probably gently poking fun at Che Chabon.TheAnswerIs41 wrote:Thank you, C! I was wondering the same thing. I have no idea why everything thinks he is asking for sensitive music. He asked for macho, clean music. And I can relate to that request (even as a girl) because when I am running I want . . . action music to pump me up.

The ribbing translated. But it didn't make sense when every single answerer made fun of the questioner for wanting "sensitive" music when I didn't see anything about that in the question...Cognoscente wrote:Yes. I'm sorry the ribbing didn't translate very well. I'll be meaner next time.Damasta wrote:Keep in mind that it was Cognoscente who wrote "sensitive". He was probably gently poking fun at Che Chabon.
I'm still confused.
And...krebscout, that's weird! Everyone knows I said it, though, so your reputation is safe.
