To blog or not to blog?
To blog or not to blog?
So, I've been mildly debating starting a blog. It seems to be the thing to do these days. But does anyone actually read those things? Would any of you actually read a blog if I were to start one? What does one say in a blog? They seem to me just to be inane ramblings that no one actually cares about. Thoughts?

I would read it if you started one. I like reading blogs. I've tried to start my own a few times, but it just didn't happen. I have a recipe blog that one day I will convert into a gluten-free recipe blog. I haven't even looked at in probably more than a year, though.
Yeah, I just went and looked at and it's pretty pathetic:

Actually it wouldn't be half-bad if I removed all the recipes that say "coming soon" and replaced "flour" with "rice flour" in the one recipe where that's an ingredient. Maybe I'll put it in my facebok profile.

You should read my blog! Because I ramble about all sorts of things that no one cares about.Marduk wrote:So, I've been mildly debating starting a blog. It seems to be the thing to do these days. I think the key to blogging is either trying to reach a specific audience or trying to be funny. I try mostly the funny approach. And I blog about whatever is interesting to me.

I have several blogs of Board people bookmarked and I check them. You know, sometimes. Okay, well, the only one who posts regularly I ignore now. But anyway!
I have a blog too. Actually, four, though two of them are private. My one blog I've pretty much abandoned because I don't do much writing these days (it was a book review/post first drafts of short stories blog). My other blog I am really... trying... to keep up with. I like having somewhere to post about NaNo, I like having somewhere to write on the internet period, and it is even at this time very useful for my Etsy stuff. I keep a post where I put up pictures of all the custom orders I do, so I have examples for prospective buyers to look at.

The Epistler was quite honestly knocked on her ethereal behind by the sheer logic of this.
To be honest, probably not to me. I do blog-hop around, but only as a chance to better get to know my internet acquaintances. This doesn't seem like it would help me get to know you. I like the ones that have short, funny, frequent, and personal (not "this is why I cry" personal. Just "this is what's up in my life and what I think about it" personal) posts. Uffish Though, Optimistic., and his wife are great examples of highly readable blogs. They just don't post often enough.Marduk wrote:The one idea I had for a blog would be a sort of "quote of the day" type thing; I'd put up a favorite quote, and then explain what I think it means. Would that be interesting to anyone?

Ok, because of (or perhaps in spite of?) the intense (insert heavy sarcasm) pushing you guys have done to get me to create a blog, I've done so.
