First of all, why didn't they keep Richard Attenborough for the American release? He's awesome! Oprah Winfrey is great in her own way, but I felt she was lacking as a narrator.
Oh, well. On to the real point of my post. Go to the show page here. Watch the clip about Orcas hunting elephant seal pups in shallow coastal pools (click the right arrow once and you'll see it; it's three minutes long). At one point (I'm not going to say where, so that you can't skip right to it and lose the full effect, but if you can't find it, I'll post the time point later) you see something in a wave. Is that not one of the freakiest things you've ever seen?

Ack! You're right! I meant David Attenborough. He's the narrator on the BBC (i.e. original) version. I just don't get why they redubbed it with Oprah Winfrey. She just lacked the oomph and passion that David Attenborough has.Sky Bones wrote:You mean David Attenborough. He's the famous narrator of nature programs. His older brother is Richard Attenborough and he's an actor, director and producer, not a narrator.
Anyway, David Attenborough will be narrating Life for one of its DVD releases.

A little bit after 2:40? The first time I saw it, I thought it was a dead seal. Although now I'm not quite sure what it was.Wisteria wrote:I also feel that Oprah doesn't have the most compelling voice as a narrator. And did I miss something? I saw a bunch of seaweed in a wave- was that what I was supposed to be looking for?
