I wish I'd known that link existed when I was typing up my answer.
I also wish my consciousness realized my subconscious was plagiarizing the events of a novel I've read more than once. I could have alluded to it in my answer to make it seem like an homage rather than theft.
Well, like I said I've read the books several times, so I imagine that was kicking around in my head somwhere, but I didn't make the connection when I was writing my response.
