Jacob Call

I was really surprised that only one of the writers knows Jacob. That kid is EVERYWHERE. And he's quite famous for his interactions with the ladies. One day, he was over at my apartment and I said something about being tired. He was also tired, so he said "Maybe we should take a nap together." It took him a second to realize the implications of such a statement, and he was soon stammering and trying to figure out how to correct himself. "Uhhh...I mean in separate beds!"
It was pretty funny. Surely some of the other readers have Jacob Call stories?

Re: Jacob Call
He used to show up all the time at my work just to tease me and my coworker. He somehow managed to know both of us, from very different places.
Also anytime I'd pass him on campus, he's stop me and hug me. One of he few people I would let get away with hugging me. I really didn't know him very well, so that was weird.

Re: Jacob Call
There's more than one writer that knows Jacob Call. I just didn't have anything in particular to say about him.

I don't know him and a quick Facebook stalk only revealed one friend in common.

No idea who he is and no friends in common with him. I guess I'm just not part of the in crowd.

Re: Jacob Call
I think he finally left Provo. He was in my ward for a year, and the year before that he came to our ward about half the time. In addition to attending his own ward.
Re: Jacob Call
he wrote for the Board for a while! I had a brief but huge crush on him.
Re: Jacob Call
I've heard his name, plus he and I have about six "friends" in common on Facebook. But I don't really know him at all.
Re: Jacob Call
I have fifteen friends in common with him because I'm so popular and have so many friends. My brother actually knows him pretty well. I didn't answer because, like Yellow, I didn't have anything specific to say about him.

Re: Jacob Call
I have six friends in common with him too! But I hadn't even heard of him before that question.
Re: Jacob Call
Yeah, no idea who he is. But I suppose that doesn't really come as a surprise to anyone.
Edited to say that I apparently have two friends in common with him, one of whom is Krebscout, and therefore does not count.

Re: Jacob Call
Of the six friends I have in common with him, one is a board person, one is a friend from undergrad who doesn't live in Utah anymore, one is a sister missionary who was in my branch in NS about a year ago, one lived on my floor when I was an RA (and transferred to a different school after her freshman year), one was in some classes I TA'ed, and one was in my ward back in 2001. This guy really gets around!
Re: Jacob Call
3 friends in common, and I am not one of them.

Re: Jacob Call
Just popped in to say that I am probably related to him in a cousin-six-or-seven-times-removed kind of a way. Pretty much all Utah Calls are related.
The Epistler was quite honestly knocked on her ethereal behind by the sheer logic of this.
Re: Jacob Call
Yeah, that guy. I have no reason for knowing him that I can think of, yet for some reason I feel like I do, or at least I've seen him around, or something. I dunno. Very weird.

Re: Jacob Call
I've never heard of him before today. But somehow I have 13 facebook friends in common with him, from various wards, jobs, classes. So weird.

Re: Jacob Call
See here for a previous discussion of Jacob Call. Pretty much everything I would've said here I already said in that thread.

Re: Jacob Call
Well, apparently I had heard of him before that question posted.
Re: Jacob Call
I just checked out the dude's Facebook page (I had to "get off work" first). Now we have 17 friends in common! And someone posted this question to his page and a bunch of people have commented on it. Everyone reads the Board!
Though I am amused that, if he really did used to write for the Board, whoever posted it first felt they had to qualify with "I'm not sure if you know what the 100 hour board" is.

Re: Jacob Call
He wasn't just a writer--anyone familiar with the early Board would immediately recognize his nym.
