I don't think Elantris or Warbreaker need sequels. And I think Alcatraz may just be maddening enough never to finish his own autobiography.

He promised me there'd be an Elantris 2. (Wikipedia says so, too.) It definitely needs a sequel. I want to spend time with this magic! It intrigues me. You can't just build it up and build it up, give me a taste of it, then stop. If you read the chapter notes on his website, he talks a lot about what kinds of things he'd put in the book. Like one of the viewpoint characters will be Raoden's aeon, for example. I think an aeon viewpoint could be awesome.

Warbreaker I don't remember as well. But if I remember right, he left a lot of loose ends. Like Vivenna going off with Vasher at the end. Brandon has said he has a tentative sequel in mind that would be named Nightblood, which could make for some interesting speculation about what would be in it. But he specifically wrote Warbreaker to be a standalone book.

Elantris, on the other hand, he wrote so that it could be standalone, so that he could get it published. But he had a sequel in mind when he wrote it.

You know that Scholastic has only purchased the rights for the first four, right? But Brandon wants to write five. In fact, in book three he says that the sacrifice scene is in book five. Which makes me wonder if he'll get five books published. Or if he'll get to the end of book four and say that the librarians have stopped all publications in the Hushlands and if you want to read book 5, you'll have to search out a Freelander or something. Or if he'll just put the sacrifice in book 4 and say that he lied about it being in book 5. Y'know, because he's a bad person.

The great thing with Alcatraz is that he has so much free reign. He can always back track on anything that happened and say he lied about it. I'm convinced that the Alcatraz series is more about the style of writing than the story itself. I mean, the story is fun and all, but the story telling is what cracks me up. He breaks all the rules and drives me mad and makes me laugh, all at the same time. It's fantastic.

Mmmm, I don't know if there will be an Elantris 2.While I'm sure if anyone could pull it off, he could, but making a sequel after deifying your characters tends to fall flat.

I'd love the opportunity to have a nice sit-down chat with him at some point in the middle future, though. Would be ideal

My mother is obsessed with washing dishes. I'll get out a plate to put my lunch on, and by the time I've gone to the fridge to get some food to put on it, she will have washed it and put it in the dish rack, even though it was clean.

MY mother is obsessed with putting things away. I'll pull out a certain spice or seasoning, put some in whatever I'm cooking, taste it to see if it needs more, and turning to put a little more spice in it, only to find that said spice has been returned to the cupboard.

I avoid housework like the plague. But my mother is rather good at it, probably because she schedules it. (Monday is laundry, Tuesday is sweeping/mopping, Wednesday is cleaning the bathroom, etc)

Scheduling! Brilliant!

I've recently come up with a list of things that need to be done weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly, but I have no idea how to actually motivate myself to do them, or remember when they should happen.

Maybe this scheduling thing could work for me.

Monday will be vacuuming day. Tuesday will be cat litter day.
Week 1 will be change the air filters in the a/c week. Week 2 will be clean out the fridge week.
March will be vacuum behind the dryer month. April will be clean out the garage month.

Hmm... now I just need to write all this down somewhere.

My mom also had cooking schedules for breakfast and dinner. Sunday morning was oatmeal, Sunday night was roast beef, Monday morning was cereal, Monday night was spaghetti, etc.

I've heard that some people use other variations of this, which I actually like better. For example, instead of "spaghetti night", you could do "Italian night". Lots more variety that way. I got really tired of eating the same dinners week after week.

Same here! Except now absolutely nothing gets done unless I'm bugging kids about it. Somehow, on their night, they forget that food is good. They're hungry enough when it's not their night for dinner...

I just had a whipped cream fight then jumped in the pool fully clothed. Ahh...the joys of summer.

There was a whipped cream fight at work one time. People got in SO MUCH TROUBLE.

You know what's fun in the summer? A watermelon fight. It started as a watermelon carving contest, but it ended up being much more fun to attack people.

My heel. It has been itching for the past day or so. I woke up in the middle of the night scratching it. But I couldn't detect any bump or anything.

Well, finally I just saw the quarter-sized bite. It took this long to show up. And I can't reach it to see if it's a spider or mosquito bite.
