Seriously. Rooting for Brazil is like rooting for the Lakers.

Ouch. That hurts, Marduk.

Speaking of missions and soccer, here's a fun little statue from Brazil. Bet you didn't know Jesus played soccer!

Amen. I mean, I have nothing against them like I do against the Lakers, but they are certainly comparable.

What a crushing loss for Japan. However, it is nice to see South America so well represented. Viva la Raza!

Would love to see Ghana go all the way, personally. It might require a miracle of the fairy-godmother level to get them there though. Have you seen Germany's team? Heck, on a number of teams this year, some of those players just can't be human.

When did they clone Pelé, and why wasn't it in the papers sooner?

Admittedly, I know little-to-none about the World Cup. But wasn't Brazil a favorite to win? And weren't they defeated by... the Netherlands? JUST LIKE I PREDICTED?!
ahem. wrote:Heh. I just don't follow soccer. But I guess if I HAVE to get involved in this madness... I support the Netherlands? Do they have a team? Is that a legitimate vote/guess?
(Also, I may be confused about what happened... I'm gleaning things from facebook statuses.)

You got it, ahem. Way to choose a winning team.

But I'm still going for Germany.

Can we talk about how a psychic octopus is messing with everyone's minds?

Because we know Germany can beat Spain. But because the octopus predicted differently we're all freaking out and not as confident as we would otherwise be.

(Maybe that's just me and my friends. Your mileage may vary. You may even be rooting for Spain and hoisting images of Paul the Octopus on flagpoles you're so excited.)

I was just going to come on here and post about the octopus to make sure you had all heard about him! Good work, C4. That octopus is my new hero.
