Re: Grossest Fruit
Here is one piece of anecdotal evidence for you to collect, Tao. I peel my bananas from the "wrong" end, and I enjoy them very much.

Re: Grossest Fruit
Yeah, I feel like peeling from the "right" end increases my changes of getting banana mush on my fingers. Gripping the stem seems much safer in that regard.

Re: Grossest Fruit
I switch. Sometimes I feel like peeling it from the top. Other times I feel like peeling it from the bottom. It's definitely easier to peel from the bottom though.
Re: Grossest Fruit
I peeled it from the bottom for the first time today, and immediately upon doing so, my head blew completely off.
I did not think that bananas could possibly become more convenient.

Re: Grossest Fruit
My freshman roommate taught me to peel bananas from the end opposite the stem, declaring that it was the correct way because that is how the apes do it.

We can all learn a lot from monkeys.
Re: Grossest Fruit
Also, ironically, the way bananas grow on trees is with the "wrong side" facing up. Wasn't there a board question about that once upon a time? Regardless, I have seen man banana clusters growing on banana trees- "upside down."
Re: Grossest Fruit
I should try eating apples upside down, maybe they will taste better.
