My side on this matter was decided years ago. It was definitely a mule.

Would love to see the musical, but I've a question: does it follow the stories of all 6 daughters, or just the 3?

Just the three. The younger two are too young. And the musical would go on forever since it ends at a good stopping place when [spoiler] happens so the whole village [spoiler]s. The audience would have to get used to a whole new setting.

Last time I saw this musical, my brother was in it. And he got mad at me because I burst into tears during the intermission and spent the second half out in the foyer (his solo was in the second half).
The Epistler was quite honestly knocked on her ethereal behind by the sheer logic of this.

So it is very much like the movie, then. If I understand correctly Sholem Aleichem had that all happen just after the story of the sixth daughter is resolved. I"ll have to see if I can get my hands on a copy and find out if what I've been told has any validity.C is for wrote:Just the three. The younger two are too young. [Edit: turns out there is no mention of the sixth daughter getting married (perhaps why she's not even represented in the movie) it is after the fifth daughter's wedding that the pogrom occurs. Also, I don't know if American audiences would be able to handle the other stories.]
