When you get to be twenty-three and are still single, with no prospects and no prospect of getting any prospects, going to weddings isn't necessarily all that fun.

QFT. Well, I guess I can't say much for 23. I am pleased to say I had a date with a wonderful young woman when I was 23.

Though I'd recommend against living with newlyweds at any age while in a decidedly singular situation. It's not exactly what I'd call fun.

He who overcomes himself is strong. 33:1-4

Yeah, that doesn't sound fun at all. How'd you wind up in that situation?

On a more positive note, however, the aforementioned wedding was the last event of the summer that I needed to be in the US for. So only 36 hours till I start my journey back to my (other) home in Africa, where I have a schedule, a fulfilling job, and fewer well-meaning relatives and relative strangers trying to convince me to move back to the US so I can get married. All of which are helpful for my sanity. :)

Yesterday in sacrament meeting we learned that Satan waits at the Y. Needless to say, my sister is even more excited to move down there in a couple weeks.

Did they say what he was waiting for? Maybe he's just waiting for a bus out of there.

Gah! School starts 2 weeks from today. I don't think I'm ready to be responsible for classes full of students yet. I'm much too young for that.

So, Twitter told me that HFACK are at a family reunion at Bear Lake which is not so far from me. It's an awesome lake except for the part about the kids about to be brutally murdered today. I'm talking about this here because I am not in possession of a real Twitter account (just, you know, a fake one) and that's not about to change.

So yeah. Bear Lake.

3d is out of town for a week. I'm actually rather happy about this, because it gives me a chance to think things through without his presence distracting me.

Holy cow I still remember having to ask how to link things in a response, I'd no idea it'd get that out of hand....

I suddenly, desperately want my hair to be significantly shorter. I suppose it's a good thing I'm not living in Provo anymore, or I would have convinced some sleepy untrained acquaintance into taking it off with a pair of Fiskars by now.

True story.

I'm glad I'm a bit more mature that I've been in the past. I really want to dye my hair red, but I know I'll regret it. Although it won't be as bad as the time I dyed it black.

I set up an appointment for a hair cut. For next week. I'm not sure if I can hold out that long!

Once I decided to get my hair cut. I put it in a ponytail and ... had my roommate do it. (So, way to not have someone around to do it for you ahem.) She was still evening it out when the nurse came by to try to get my blood but luckily I'd already had my blood drawn that day. And luckily he's the only one that saw it ridiculous.

Though, let's be honest, it was ridiculous for like the next 3 months.

/slightly related anecdote, with the addendum that I still have that ponytail somewhere.

And now, for Facebook news,
It seems they somehow kept hold of all my previous "Activities" and "Interests" answers though I deleted them as soon as the format changed. They've asked me to like "Alphabetizing" and "Limping" even though no one in their right mind likes limping! It's just an activity I do a lot.
Anyway. Apparently they keep every piece of information about you ever.
