I escaped a tornado...in a computer game ;). Okay, not very brave at all... how 'bout this: I changed my niece's diaper for the first time.

The bravest thing I did today was making comments like crazy in Sunday school.

The bravest thing I did today was encouraged the boy I sometimes think about liking to sit by me at break-the-fast.

Oh, I also bravely said "Shut up" in Sunday School. My sister freaked out, but it went well with the story I was explaining. (Ramble moment: The boy I sometimes think about liking was teaching. I hope he wasn't offended by my coarse diction.)

I had a girl I kind of know over for lunch as she was passing through town. That's brave because she's also the girl my ex-boyfriend has been pursing relentlessly for the last three months. I think I need to stare at a blank wall for a couple of hours to recover from the emotional drain, even though I'm no longer interested in him, she's never been interested in him, and actually I like her quite a bit.

I went to the eye doctor today and got puffed. It wasn't much fun.

Ah, the puffs. I know them.

My bravest thing today was to override both of my parents. My mother got frustrated and sent my sister to her room, but I talked with my mom a bit and then called my sister back to finish cleaning the kitchen and then go to her room (she'd much rather stay in her room than clean). My father was letting Cait watch Phineas and Ferb after mom and I had both said no and she'd been put in bed once, and I took her away and put her in bed. Which I have done six or seven times now. Sometime she will get the picture.

The bravest thing I did was waking up early for a meeting. The next bravest thing I did was not punching somebody when I found out that the meeting was canceled.

Aside from my brother (who often goes to bed at nine in the morning), I'm the most die-hard night owl I know. Prior to my recent marriage (yay!), I was staying up til 3 or 4 most nights. Just for kicks.

I bought a sex education book that I was hoping I didn't need from the BYU bookstore.

Last Friday and Saturday I went backpacking in the high Sierras with some 14 and 15 year-old scouts.

I saw a spider in my room and did not scream. I picked it up using its thread (it was hanging down from my sister's bunk) and did not scream. I carried it over to the trash can and set it in and did not scream.

Then the silk stuck to my hand and I did scream, but hey, I did really well before then!

The bravest thing I did today was do a load of laundry for the kids I take care of. It... involved a lot of poop.

The bravest thing I did today was take in feeder crickets (and nightcrawlers) in to work as part of my lesson on bugs, prod the hopping things into little kids' hands, and (here's the brave part) not scream when one almost jumped in my mouth and another one simultaneously hit me in the face.

The bravest thing I did today was call and figure out my credit card issues*. I've been avoiding doing that for 2 years. Which is a ridiculously long time to not figure out your credit card issues.

*Which are in no way debt-related.

The bravest thing I did...yesterday was try out for Divine Comedy. I was that one person that was funny, mostly.

The bravest most foolhardy thing I did today was decide I'd rather finish watching the movie than take the baby to bed when he began fussing. Twenty minutes later...

The bravest thing I did today was waking up ridiculously early to grade papers for my students who are taking a test tomorrow. Somehow I survived a long day at school as well.

I have never canned anything before in my life, but I just picked everything off my pear tree and gave it a shot. I don't know if they are edible or not, but they look pretty in the jars . . .
