Re: Random Maids a'Milking!
Today I talked with a girl with hair down to her knees about whether or not I should cut my hair, since she's probably the most sympathetic listener I could have (for a thirty-second conversation, anyway).
Re: Random Maids a'Milking!
"A special hug"? Wow, that's one I haven't heard before... But what I meant is, we have a (neutered) male dog who we can't imagine would let another male on the compound. And as far as we know Daisy isn't prone to wandering off. And nobody noticed that she was in heat. But, well, who knows? Maybe she got a "special hug" through the chain-link fence.bobtheenchantedone wrote:...they give each other a special hug.thebigcheese wrote:Do we need to talk about the birds and the bees? Re: Random Maids a'Milking!
I'm planning a trip to Idaho next weekend. I think I'm crazy, but I just need to get out of Provo. I would go home, but that is definite not feasible. So I'm catching a ride with 3d to Southern Idaho, and my cousin is coming down from Rexburg to pick me up.

I have living room furniture! I've been living without it for the past month. It's nice to have a couch to sit on.

Oh, fast sundays... I AM SO HUNGRY! Do you guys ever start shaking when you haven't eaten in a while?
Re: Random Maids a'Milking!
Yes, Sauron and I both get the shakes when we haven't eaten. It's worse when I'm pregnant . Not that I'm fasting. It can happen just between normal meal times these days.
Re: Random Maids a'Milking!
mmm nope, afraid not. Though after a while I found that my legs can hurt and make walking a bit difficult.thebigcheese wrote:Oh, fast sundays... I AM SO HUNGRY! Do you guys ever start shaking when you haven't eaten in a while?

Re: Random Maids a'Milking!
No shakes. But I get really, really cranky, and for whatever reason unable to make decisions. My husband has gotten rather used to that level of . . . awfulness from me, so he knows how to fix it when that happens. The problem is that I am so cranky I can't be happy and calm enough to feel the spirit at all. Fast Sundays are often rather counterproductive, actually.
Re: Random Maids a'Milking!
My older brother gets really, really, really, really cranky when he's hungry. He realizes it, but I don't mess around on Fast Sundays when he's around.
I get shaky after a really really long fast, but I've only ever done a few of those. And I can't really go 24 hours without water, because I can't retain it for beans. Stinks.

Re: Random Maids a'Milking!
going without food is harder now than it used to be. But that's a good thing, because that means that I'm actually eating normally.

Re: Random Maids a'Milking!
Yesterday was my first day doing an abstain-from-all-food fast for at least a couple of years. Man, fasting is hard.

About getting shaky: I'm not sure how strict Mormons are about what constitutes a fast, but I find that a cup of apple juice midday keeps my blood sugar up enough to keep me from getting shaky. Without it I pretty much feel like I'm going to pass out.
Re: Random Maids a'Milking!
Many go for a full 24 hours without consuming anything (including liquids)--starting their fast Saturday night and ending it Sunday evening. Some just fast for two meals on Sunday. It's kind of a personal decision, and there are all sorts of exceptions (medical reasons, children, hot climates where dehydration would result, pregnant and nursing women, etc.).Emiliana wrote:I'm not sure how strict Mormons are about what constitutes a fast
Re: Random Maids a'Milking!
Years of cutting weight for wrestling have made me pretty much immune to the effects of fasting. I generally do a 24 hour fast, and get somewhat hungry by the end, but that's about it. The longest I've ever abstained from both food and drink was 3 days, and I've done 7 day liquid only fasts.
