XBox 360. I just like it the best (not that I know much about video games, I just know that from the games my brothers made me play I liked the XBox 360 the best).

Wii. I am all about the wiimote and actual motion being involved more than just pressing buttons.
That would be because I am not a gamer.

Re: My turn to ask a question!
I say Wii is best, but that's because it's what I've used in the past. I also asked 1st Brother Cat, the family's biggest gamer, what he thought and he said this:
I still say Wii.1st Brother Cat wrote:Xbox 360 is better because because you can contact friends, play with different players, and can play the Xbox live games. Besides, it has better games and fast download. That why I want one.

I don't really do console games anymore. So I say i7 980 with GTX 280.

Re: My turn to ask a question!
We love the Wii at my house, including the two-year-old ("Can you find Mario please?"). We also like playing my brother's xbox when he will let us. There are games I love for both of them.
The Epistler was quite honestly knocked on her ethereal behind by the sheer logic of this.
Re: My turn to ask a question!
Wow, no one praises the PS3! Funny I'm leaning in that direction. I really only want to be able to play rock band and watch movies.
Re: My turn to ask a question!
It really depends on what you want from them.
The 360 has some unique games that are beyond amazing (Halo, Fable, etc.), though it isn't the most reliable system (though they did apparently upgrade their software recently). The PS3 has some of the most amazing RPG's and is by far the best system for single-player games, plus it can do so much more beyond video games. The Wii is great if you're looking more for party-type games, though it has some unique RPG's (like The Legend of Zelda, which is spectacular). It's very user-friendly and I personally think it's great for those that wouldn't consider themselves "true gamers."
With that said, if I was only allowed to keep one of these three systems, it wouldn't even be a choice. PS3.

We have a PS3. We bought it so we could play BluRays, back when the PS3 was cheaper than any BluRay players on the market. I think we finally bought a game for it after a couple of years.

I'm with Bones here: it depends on what you want! I don't think we can reduce it to some "this one is better."
Re: My turn to ask a question!
I want to play Beatles Rock Band. That's it. I would buy a Wii since I would be able to play Zelda and Mario Kart (hey, Dragon Lady, I still want to challenge you!) but Rock Band is RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE for the Wii. So I'm leaning toward a PS3.

Re: My turn to ask a question!
I'm seeing PS3s for around $279, while Wiis cost $150 (both new). Does Rock Band for Wii cost more than $130 more for Wii than for PS3? (I'm not sure what instruments you want or I'd look up the prices for the games too.)

There you go, being practical again.Laser Jock wrote:I'm seeing PS3s for around $279, while Wiis cost $150 (both new). Does Rock Band for Wii cost more than $130 more for Wii than for PS3? (I'm not sure what instruments you want or I'd look up the prices for the games too.)
Re: My turn to ask a question!
It turns out that rock band Wii is wicked expensive. I ended up buying a PS3, Rock Band 2, Beatles Rock Band and an extra guitar for under $500.

Re: My turn to ask a question!
I would just like to say that I prefer playing Rock Band on the xbox or the ps3 over the wii
Re: My turn to ask a question!
Well, now that you have a PS3 you mine as well get all of the Final Fantasy games to make it worth it.
While you're at it, pick up Dragon Age as well. The Prince of Persia games and the Uncharted games are quite fun, too. Eh, what the heck, I'll also throw in a vote for the Assassin's Creed games and Demon's Souls.

Second vote for Dragon Age. Man, what a fun game.

Was it much different on the console? I played it on PC.

Re: My turn to ask a question!
I'd say it was slightly inferior on the console in a sense that it was more difficult to be tactical (which is why they actually made the PS3 and 360 versions slightly easier than the PC version). You couldn't zoom out or in during combat and you had to manually move your characters (individually, too) as opposed to being able to pause and give all of your characters commands at the same time. Yeah, just a little bit annoying, but certainly doable.
Dragon Age I was made for the PC then ported over to the consoles. Dragon Age II, however, will be much more focused on the consoles, much to the dismay of many PC gamers. Hah.
