Wow! When I saw the link that the song was from a "real" band, I looked up the video on Youtube. There are even more lyrics! Oddly dressed people, whose names come on the screen to introduce them! A MASCOT!

Note: I think that's just a cover of the song, since it was released in 2003. I sang it back in '93. So I think it has deeper roots than that.

The chorus was influenced by a popular campfire song that was sung at school camps.

The original song was written by Dutch producer Eric Dikeb in 1980.

Ha! I was just about to post something about this... So, does anyone else find it interesting/horrifying that this particular song reached #2 on the British charts?
