How about a pumpkin pie? (Which, admittedly, my bro-in-law once did. On accident.) Or pumpkin rolls? or pumpkin chocolate chip cookies?

I always feel so Puritan when we sing this song in church.
I always sing "Oh refreshments, oh refreshments."

I just read that as "Lord Dismiss Us With Thy Pumpkin".

Dragon Lady, pumpkin pie is ok, though most other pies are preferable in my mind. As to the other two, I think they are better without. I'd prefer rolls and chocolate chip cookies to pumpkin rols and pumpkin chocolate chip cookies.

I tried to make pumpkin bread once, and it turned out less than average. Perhaps I need a new recipe. However, I must say that the pumpkin chocolate chip bread at Great Harvest is exquisite. Especially when it's fresh and warm and they butter it, and the butter gets all melty...drool...

Pumpkin rolls are not even in the same category as regular rolls. Pumpkin rolls are a dessert. Please refer to a Google Image search: http://www.google.com/images?client=saf ... 48&bih=944

Ha. At the age of 14, I volunteered to make a pumpkin roll for a mutual activity, having absolutely no idea what it was or how to make one. It was... an interesting experience.

I must say that I haven't like pumpkin pie since I put my foot through one.

I'm really picky about my pumpkin pie. Some pies are just too spicy for me, and I really don't like them. Others are wonderful. Since my husband hates pumpkin pie, we probably won't have it in our house much, and I'm really not all that sad about it.

I generally do not like pudding or custard pies. Or cheesecakes.

Awwww. Tell you what, you tell me when, and I will make a whole menu specifically to your liking. (Of course, I refuse to travel more than say, fifty miles.)

Deal. But it may be a while until I get up to Utah again. I'm spending the rest of my travel budget for the year on a road trip to California.

I'm going to California too! In the space of one year, I will have been to both sides of the US. That's pretty huge, especially considering before last August I had never been east of Utah.

I would love to come see you, krebscout! But I don't know that it's possible. I'm traveling with the family of a friend of mine, so I have basically no say over where they go. : (
