Sudden death? Sure, why not? Imogen, it's on!

Re: Encore - "Cry"
Eh, when I saw the word was 'cry' and variants thereof, I figured that to keep things from getting too far out of hand, I'd limit myself to one song per genre. In retrospect, I realized "Her Diamonds" and "Bother" were closer in genre than I had at first considered, so I bowed out. (Not that I'd usually put Rob Thomas and Corey Taylor in the same genre, but those particular songs were closer than I'd like....)Katya wrote:What rule?

Tao, I think that your reason for quitting stinks. On the next round, you do not get to play that card. If you still want to keep going, I'd be happy to continue. And Imogen, good job. It was a great game.

Re: Encore - "Cry"
Eh. It is what it is. While its frustrating to make such a simple mistake, I'm not sure how many more I'd have been able to pull off anyway; was going to go with "The Crossroads" from Bone Thugs, then things looked pretty lean.

Re: Encore - "Cry"
Which is an extra handicap you gave yourself to make the game more challenging. That isn't necessarily a problem, but it is a bit of an insult for someone to realize that they won a race only because you decided to hop on one foot. (I.e., I think Dead Cat would have preferred to beat you on an even playing field.) And if it turns out that none of us can beat you in a fair fight, we may tweak the rules and say that you have to post two per round, or something along those lines, but it would be nice for those restrictions to be explicitly stated beforehand.Tao wrote:It is what it is.
Re: Encore - "Cry"
To be fair, lack of songs to pull from is not the only reason someone would go out early. I had about a half dozen that easily came to mind, alas, I could not play them.

Re: Encore - "Cry"
Oh, of course. In my mind, there are 3 ways to go out:
1. Run out of songs.
2. Get the lyrics to a song wrong.
3. Forget (or be too busy) to post one day.
But Tao is still playing with an extra handicap, if he won't let himself repeat genres.

Forgive me for any misunderstanding, as my intent was not to handicap myself to level the playing field, but to prevent a diverting footrace from becoming a marathon. Rather than explicitly stating such thoughts beforehand, I perceive my failure to be in ever mentioning them at all.
