Bahaha. It's just cuz we were both "old" and didn't have many other age-options left. Either that or she and I are both super immature and it took us longer to be mature enough for our spouses. Or perhaps they're both super mature for their ages. Or maybe "old" girls get the best guys—despite their age.

Or we're just adorable. That works, too. :)

Or maybe you misunderstood what it meant to be a BYU cougar. ;)

My mother was two years older than my father. Seemed natural to me growing up. Yeah, I think she was holding out for a great catch, and grabbed him when he was a mere twenty years old. (They did wait until my dad turned 21 so he wouldn't need the approval of his mother.)

They did meet at BYU. I don't think "cougar" had the same extra meaning back in 1941 that it does today.

I just didn't want to end up in my father's situation, 35 and marrying a 23-year-old undergrad.

While I admire you both, I'm afraid I shall follow in neither of your footsteps, I'll not marry an older man. Nor a younger one.

So it's either a woman or a man who was born at exactly the same time as you...
