Well, we've had our differences of opinion. But Sauron has been fair to me and a decent person. I suspected he might need to retire because of his increasing family and educational responsibilities. Best wishes in family, school, and profession. Please stop by from time to time and make a comment.

All bias aside, he really was a good Board writer.

True. I always loved the level of research and detail he was willing to do/go into.

We'll miss him, but also wish him (and you!) luck in your newest adventures!

Aw, man...
The Epistler was quite honestly knocked on her ethereal behind by the sheer logic of this.

Another one bites the dust... I always liked how he kept the "and" before his nym. It was a nice touch.

Agreed, he was a really good Board writer. I'm sad to see him go. Also, who will be the Board liberal now?

Also, YOUR DAUGHTER IS SO CUTE, and good luck with the potty training.

Sauron, you were one of the strongest and best the board had to offer. Alas, talent such as yours always has bigger and better things to move on to; I hope to see much of you here, and hope you know that you bring to rest the few vestiges of intellectual liberalism that once was part and parcel of the board.

Your retirement is on par with that of TheBlackSheep in my mind; your responses were often the closest thing I had to a voice on the board, and I suppose I can say this now, in most controversial questions and posts, your posts were what I would write given the opportunity. Only, I found that your words gave better voice than I fear I could have. You were my voice, only kinder, softer, and more genuine to reality.

I would wish you luck in all that you do, but with the approach that you have given the board applied to the rest of your life, I know you cannot fail. I only hope you find a better, bigger, and wider forum to give reverberance to your necessary ideas and words. God speed.

I ditto what Marduk said, except in plain english... with much smaller words.

I'm sure this thread played a part in Waldorf and Sauron starring in one of my dreams last night. It largely dealt with them helping me drive in snow. Me in my little Kia and them in a big brown and tan van. Mostly they were plowing the way for my little car. But sometimes they were driving my car through 12" deep snow. Which I thought (and still think) is impossible. And stupid. But they were successful.

So… I guess you two can do anything! Careful of all the snow you guys are getting. ;)

Heh. I hate driving in all conditions. I'm glad there's no snow here (for driving. I love snow otherwise), but the traffic stills gets to me.

Um.. I dreamt that their son was programming robots. Probably to take over the world.

He will probably be able to in a few months. He's obsessed with "bobots" right now, and he's getting frighteningly good with computers...even though he's not allowed.

Turns out, the van they were driving is parked out front. I guess reality plays into my dreams more than I ever thought.
