Also, it turns out I actually do want something specific from Astrobiology. A pdf of this paper:

Hooray! Tell us more about the project, if and when you can. (In the meantime, I'll go put my boots on so I can walk 3,000 miles to LA.)krebscout wrote:Guys I just got hired for a sweet illustration gig. I'm so excited that I'm taking all of you out for ice cream who may be in the Los Angeles area.

We just got junk mail from Allergan that says on the front:
If your acne medication is showing up where it shouldn't be, maybe it's time to ask about something different.
What does that even mean? Like, the tube or bottle is showing up on my sink when it should be in my cabinet? Or when I use acne medication, does it actually show up on my face? Like, here are the red dots that is my acne, and here is the white paste that is my medication. Except it's not showing up on my face like it should (?) but rather on my… ankle.
And I don't even have acne! Good thing my last zit finally disappeared or I might develop a complex. (Though, if 7 years of getting AARP stuff hasn't given me a complex yet, I doubt acne medication junk mail will.)

I struggled with the concept of the accordion as a musical instrument.

Yeah, that's kind of weird. The only thing I can really think of is that some acne medications are peroxide-based (e.g., benzoyl peroxide), so they can bleach your clothes/towels/etc. if you're not careful (for instance, if you sweat and then wipe your face on your sleeve).Dragon Lady wrote:We just got junk mail from Allergan that says on the front:

You know, when I first came here I thought SDSU stood for South Dakota State University, and I had no idea why we'd be playing them in anything.
Even now that I know the SD stands for San Diego, I still think South Dakota first. I blame it on the fact that South Dakota is actually a state, which means a name with "State University" in it reminds me of it first.

I spent an entire season of Women's NCAA division I basketball thinking that "Yukon" was the team to beat. Arrg taxes.

I wish! I bet I'd be making a lot more money. And as captain I would make sure I was paid more than my sister, which is not that case right now. Grumble.

So I randomly woke up at like 5:00 this morning. I suddenly feel like there's so many hours in the day...

Re: Nine for Random Chatter, doomed to die
This is how I feel when I stay up at 6 instead of going back to bed. Not only do I have extra hours, I am also just much more productive if I start the day earlier. I mean that I am likely to start actual work after only an hour of playing around instead of three hours.thebigcheese wrote:So I randomly woke up at like 5:00 this morning. Re: Nine for Random Chatter, doomed to die
My family does scriptures at 5:15 every morning. I'm a dedicated daughter and come every day, but I usually go back to sleep. I'm trying to work out my schedule so I can stay awake, though. It's so much easier for me to be productive in the morning.
